The 12.000 m2 GFA will be divided over 3 building volumes that arise above a one storey plinth. The layout of these volumes is uniform, but the height differs from 2, 3 to 5 storeys above the plinth. Under a large part of the built area a basement is designed that will house the bike park, installations and logistics.
The structure contributes in special way to the visionary design as well as to the BREEAM score. The structure above ground level will completely be constructed as a timber structure. The facades will be column free In order to provide a maximal view on the surrounding nature of the estate. This will be realised by wooden structures with cantilevering rafters. The core of the building is also being designed as wooden wall panels. In this design wood is not only applied in laminated beams, but also in solid floor and wall panels of 120 mm thickness. Acoustic insulation will be provided by sand adding mass on the floors.
