Structural design, detail drawings and calculations

The passage lies nearby km 81.070 of the Rotterdam-Schiedam railway connection, close to the Spaanse Polder in Rotterdam. At the site of the intersection, a railway runs atop a viaduct made of a raised concrete slab supported by concrete pillars. The column supports of the existing viaduct, situated at the newly constructed two-lane traffic road, were not designed to withstand traffic load. Consequently, the works included reinforcing the columns into a corridor with openings. Underneath the railway, the new traffic road is constructed on two concrete floors founded on pillars. The work includes the structural finishing of the whole.
