The building combines various functions, including experimental halls and spaces, office rooms, conference facilities etc. The building, sized approximately 11.000m2 GFA, is positioned on a central location of the Eindhoven University of Technology campus. The design is made by Ector Hoogstad Architects and comprises a three story building, topped with a technical floor. Facilitating internal and external communication is crucial to this design. Furthermore, the building is flexible and can easily adapt to facilitate changes in research.
Since sustainability was an important theme to the client, it was aspired to attain BREEAM certification with ambition level ‘Very Good’.
